On January 22, 2020, the station launched a new 10 p.m. newscast (produced in conjunction with the CBS local streaming operations) as part of CBS’s expansion efforts for both CW-affiliated and independent stations. July of 2022 saw the newscast re-launched as Detroit Now News and is poised to take its news programming to a new level!
As part of this expansion, the station has commissioned a fleet of AMT broadcast vehicles! Among them is our super slick Raptor Series CNG/IPNG vehicle, capable of navigating the worst weather Detroit can dish out.
The new Raptor Series truck is upfitted from an F150 Police Interceptor (born in Dearborn, MI). Equipped with fortified suspension, AMT’s signature upfit package is designed to give the truck the attitude it deserves. CBS Detroit’s Next Weather truck will be on display at the Detroit Auto show on 9/14 as part of the Ford Exhibit and to promote the CBS launch!
The new Raptor Series sports a complete suite of weather forecasting tools, DriveLive™ capabilities, an enhanced MVP-E™ Power system for extended runtime, and a pull-out 55” monitor for on-site display.
