WHILE THE BASEBAND/RF SYSTEM IS REASON ENOUGH TO BE NEWSWORTHY…IT'S INNOVATIVE GREEN ENERGY THAT MAKES THESE PLATFORMS SPECIAL!

What’s special about green-powered News Vans?

Until recently, the industry has relied solely on belt-driven generators, alternators, and relatively weak AGM batteries for auxiliary power. While these prove less expensive than a generator, there are still significant fuel costs from prolonged idling time. In fact, a typical news van with 100K miles could have as much as 500K miles worth of engine idle time.

Following the last few years’ quantum leap in battery technology, AMT was at the forefront of revolutionary development with a new GREEN POWER system.

Introducing AMT’s MVP-E™ Power System, the game-changer for the modern news station! By combining 1200Ah of LifePO4 batteries with our proprietary charging system and software, we’re equipping the news industry for anti-idling laws and setting the stage for advanced news platforms in a green-powered, modern era.

Having been widely deployed in AMT’s Vision Series SUV Platformsthe revolutionary power system is ready to take center stage in California with FULL-SIZE green-powered news vans. KNBC/KVEA’s 1200Ah Tri-Lithium MVP-E™ drive system supplies power to electronics and HVAC. Charging from shore power, engine power, solar power, or public charging station ports, the new system (which allows local and remote access to the batteries for performance monitoring) has returned over 50% in fuel costs and over 60% in reduced preventive maintenance in our control study vehicles.

The MVP-E™ System allows KNBC/KVEA to power their story using hybrid battery cells onsite while using conventional fuel to arrive at the site (no matter the conditions or distance). For extended events, starting the engine will power the truck and recharge the batteries in a pinch, meeting green energy efforts with mission-critical power requirements.

CBS’s green-powered news vans are only the next step for AMT’s MVP-E™ power systems. Stay tuned for our upcoming 2023 project, where NASA is deploying it to support the Artemis program!
